			<description>Last Monday or Tuesday, on ABC South East Radio, Mornings with Tim Holt, Tim interview the RTA's Acting Regional Manager, Mel Melinskey who stated that in the last eighteen months their RTA man had only picked up 9 roadkill between Cooma and the snowfields.  This was in reply to LAOKO asking for Wildlife Warning signs or signs displaying their phone number to be placed at strategic points on the highway. 			<description>I HAVE BEEN WRITING TO THE ROADS AND TRAFFIC AUTHORITY FOR MANY YEARS ASKING FOR MODERN INOVATIVE SIGNS TO WARN OF WOMBATS CROSSING.  I ALWAYS GET THE SAME RESPONSE AND THAT IS &quot;WE DO NOT BELEIVE IN WILDLIFE WARNING SIGNS&quot; .  I HAVE JUST WRITTEN TO THE NRMA - OPEN ROAD MAGAZINE ASKING THEM FOR THEIR OPINION. 			<description>We are coming up to our Roadkill period.  We live above 1000m in the Central Tablelands on a major tourist route.  The tourist destination just down the road from us gets half a million visitors a year.  We also have a major industrial town nearby that uses truck transport both in and out.  We get at least 50 - 75 road kills a year between March-April to October.  We think that this mainly related to temperature.
