Hi there,

My partner Wayne (aka 'Wombat') and I presently live in Nanango Qld, alas no wombats. But we have just bought a property in Tasmania and plan on moving there VERY soon. It is 92 acres of paradise and we will be able to help the wombats. We have been rescuing, caring for and rehabilitating wildlife for many years and also have experience in mentoring, training, workshops, presentations, displays, public relations, fundraising and education. I write fortnightly articles for two ...

After reading the introductions by other members mine seems somewhat plain. I am a city dweller, in the suburbs of Sydney, with little chance of meeting a wombat other than at the local zoo or wildlife park. I do envy those who are able to have regular contact with wombats. As you might have gathered Harry Wombat is my non de plume, although Harry does exist in a manner of speaking. Many years ago when I lived in Melbourne I purchased a large hand made toy wombat from the St. Kilda market and ...

Wombats are the most amazing animals and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to help them, they have returned that input in buckets. Where I once walked through or drove past "the bush" and couldn't see the ecosystems for the trees, I have a different perspective now thanks to my waddling friends. I can "read" the bush now and know whether kangaroo, wallaby or wombat has passed through a certain track, and find myself laughing out loud as I see signs that indicate ...

Hi there,

My name is Linda and I live in the Central West of NSW on an 85 acre Wildlife Refuge. I've been a wildife carer since the late 90's and have been educating people on wildilfe care for about 5 years. I've cared for many species of native animal but specialise in the Bare-Nosed Wombat and have raised and soft released 14 on my property. There is a healthy, mange-free wombat population living in and around my property.

I've written a care guide called A Guide to the Care of ...

We own a property on the Central Tablelands which consists of 120 acres of native sub alpine forest. We are actively trying to make our property a wildlife refuge. We specialise in the care of wombats. We are members of WIRES, Wombat Protection Society, and I am a moderator on Envirotalk Australia and Wildfriends. We are also into sustainable living and are currently building a rammed earth house with solar power and establishing a self sufficient garden. We are also looking for ways that we ...
