ROADKILL IN THE SOUTH EAST
Last Monday or Tuesday, on ABC South East Radio, Mornings with Tim Holt, Tim interview the RTA's Acting Regional Manager, Mel Melinskey who stated that in the last eighteen months their RTA man had only picked up 9 roadkill between Cooma and the snowfields. This was in reply to LAOKO asking for Wildlife Warning signs or signs displaying their phone number to be placed at strategic points on the highway. Many people rang in to quote much higher figures and one person even quoted 86 wombats. You can go to the ABC south east mornings program and listen to the interview and add your comments. It all helps or you can write to Mel Melinskey yourself but you probably will get the standard reply "signs are a distraction".
